Cathedral windows is a stunning pattern that really looks great with different fabric designs and colors.  It is done entirely by hand, so it does take a certain amount of patience, but it's worth it!  Personally, I find hand sewing to be very relaxing, so I'll work on it a bit here and there, when I need a break from other projects.  It is also a really nice quilt to work on when traveling once you have your fabrics precut you will only need a few supplies to take along.  

Fabrics:
Cathedral Window Fabric kit for a 12x12 inch finished design available from the instructor the day of class.  There will be many fabric choices to choose from available to purchase.

Or you my precut your own:
Main fabric - 1/2 yard- cut (12) base fabric squares 6 3/4" x 6 3/4"
Inside fabric - 1/4 yard - cut (4) base fabric squares 6  3/4" x 6 3/4"
Accent "Window" fabrics - 2 colors, small scraps approximately 10" squares 
Secret Garden fabric - (4) squares cut 2 7/8

Supplies:
A hard pressing surface that measures approximately 10" square.  
Clover mini iron
A piece of hard template plastic that measures exactly 6" square - for this the teacher will supply one per student
Thread - 100% sold 100wt or 100% Cotton 50wt. in colors close to your background fabrics.  
Thread Magic Thread conditioner
Applique pins - the Clover brand - short 1/2" pins with small white ball heards
Mechanical Fabric marking pencil such as a white pencil from Bohin
Small scissors that can cut fabric.
Awl
Thimble of your choice
Size 10 hand sewing needle 
Needle threader is very helpful
