Zen Free Motion Quilting
The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create images by drawing patterns. We will first learn the basics of drawing Zen, continuous line designs. These designs make GREAT free motion all over quilting designs.
If you can draw it - you can quilt it!
We will go from Zen Tiles drawing with a pencil and pen and then transfer what you learn to fabric to do some free motion quilting.
SUPPLIES:
- 1 yard of white fabric cut into 4 squares, approximately 18” square
- 2 – 18” squares of cotton batting
- Sewing machine in good working order – This would be the class to bring the machine you plan to do your free motion quilting with – not you small “class” machine.
- White thread and a colored thread – we will first quilt with white thread and then switch to the color – I would recommend a medium shade of thread like a grey.
- New Sewing machine needle – Topstitch size 90
- Spray Sizing – Mary Ellen’s Best Press
- A few safety pins
- 505 Basting Spray
The teacher will be supplying the Zentangles tiles and pens
We will talk about coloring your design but that will not be done in class.
