In this six-month class (meeting once a month), you’ll learn:

• How to select and prepare your fabric.

• Foundation piecing techniques using the Add-an-Eighth ruler.

• Quilting individual blocks and assembling them with the Easy Sashings Quilt as You Go method.

Work on your quilt both in class and at home, and customize it to the size that suits you best. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or new to these techniques, this project offers a perfect balance of creativity and skill-building.

Supplies:

- Please pick up the book from Smith Owen Sewing or on Nancys website www.QuiltingwithNancy.com when you sign up - $15 cash or check
- Add-an-Eight Ruler - It’s important that you use the Add-an-Eighth ruler instead of the Add-a-Quarter ruler because there are many small pieces in these blocks. The add-an-eighth ruler results in smaller seams and less bulk
- Rotary cutting mat, 12.5” or larger square ruler 
- Clover mini iron
- Three rolls of 3/4” Heat Press Batting Tape
- Roxanne’s Glue Baste-It
- 505 Basting Spray
- 50 wt. 100% cotton thread for piecing
- Thread for quilting the blocks
- Foundation paper piecing

Fabric Requirements for large quilt 85x85:
A - Light background Blocks Front of the quilt 2.5 yards and shashing and first border 2 yards (on my quilt this is the same fabric for a total of 4.5 yards)
B - Dark Blue Blocks for blocks 3.25 yards, for cornerstones, border, and binding 3 yards (I used the same fabric for a total of 6.25 yards)
C - Silver Grey for Blocks 2 yards
D - Medium Blue for Blocks .75 yards
E - Light Blue for Blocks 1.75 yards
F - Setting Triangles 1.5 yards
G - Quilt Backing using the Easy Sashings QAYG Technique the total for the back of the quilt combining the backing for blocks, sashings, setting and corner triangles  and the boarders. 9.75 yards
- one queen-size and one twin-size cotton or cotton blend batting.

For smaller quilt 50x50 quilt
A - Light background
B - Dark Blue 1 yard
C - Red Blocks and Sashing 2 yards 1.5 yards
D - Medium Blue .5 yard
E - Gold 1 yard
F - Setting Triangle 1 yard
