Winter is coming! In Michigan, we see lots of snowflakes, but none as large as this quilt. This striking quilt is constructed with small paper-pieced diamonds and foundation-pieced setting squares and triangles. You’ll learn how to precisely piece the small diamonds with an eighth-inch seam and the corners with freezer paper. This quilt is not for the faint of heart but instead an heirloom you’ll treasure.

Some pre-cutting is required for this quilt

Supplies:
--Copy of instructions Booklet and preprinted foundations to start the project $12
--4 yards of Modeled Dark Blue(Fabric A) for diamonds, Corner Squares and Setting Triangles (you can buy 2 additional yards of this fabric that is used in the 2nd, 4th and final border and binding on the sample but we will not be used during class)
--1 yard of Light white print(Fabric B) for Diamonds (you can buy 3 additional yards of this fabric that is used in the 1st, 3rd and 5th border but we will not be used during class)
--2 3/4 yards of Small Blue Print(Fabric C) for diamonds, corner squares and setting triangles 
--1 1/4 yards of Modeled Medium Blue (Fabric D) for diamonds, corner squares and setting triangles 
--5/8 yard Light Blue Fabric (Fabric F) Diamonds
--Rotary Cutter (28mm or 45mm recommended(
--Cutting Mat: 12” x 18” recommended — a small mat is required, anything larger will just be too big for this setup 
--Add-a-eighth ruler - 6” or 12”
--Neutral Color Thread - 100% Cotton 50 wt piecing thread
--Spray Sizing - Mary Ellens Best Press or Faultless Magic Brand
--Ruler - 6”x12” or larger and a square that is at least 9 1/2” - anything larger is okay too 
--Good Quality Seam Ripper like the Clover Seam Ripper
--Roll of Freezer Paper - this can be purchased at the grocery store
--The teacher will provide pre-copied foundations for this class. However, you will need to make additional copies to complete the full quilt. The teacher will discuss this in class.
