Birds in the Air
This quilt showcases a stunning design that is achieved with precision by using paper templates to guide the fabric placement and stitching. Paper piecing is an advanced technique that requires some prior knowledge of the fundamentals. The quilt has a dimension of about 40" by 40" and is composed of 8" blocks
There are some pre-cutting requirements for this class
SUPPLIES:
--Dark Fabric - I used approximately 16 blue and white fabrics and a fat eighth of each one. You can make a quilt with 2 yards of one fabric if you want
--1 yard of white on white fabric for the light-colored flying geese blocks
--1 yard of grey fabric for the medium colored blocks
--1 yard of fabric for border and backing
--Rotary Cutter (28mm or 45mm)
--Cutting Mat: 12” x 18” recommended or any small mat
--Add-a-quarter ruler - 6”, 12” or the new Add-a-Quarter Plus (this is absolutely required - the teacher will have some for sale during the class if you have trouble finding it beforehand)
--Neutral thread, 50 wt that is 100% cotton
--Foundation Paper - You don’t need the foundation paper for he class. The kit has everything you need for the session. If you want to continue paper piecing after the class, you will need foundation paper to make your own templates
