Autism Awareness Quilt

"A world where all people with autism can reach their full potential."  This quilt is a representation of the Autism Awareness symbol in quilt form.

This quilt is made with simple construction techniques but planning the puzzle piece inserts can get confusing so be prepared - a design wall will be very helpful with the layout.

Fabrics:
1/2 yard each of 8 different colors - bold primary colors are normally used in an Autism Awareness quilt
Students need to purchase the pattern off my website www.OnPoint-TV.com - it is an epattern that they may choose to print.
Here is a link to that pattern

Supplies:
Rotary Cutter, 45mm
Rotary mat 18x24
Very good pair of fabric scissors
Ruler 6x24 and a square ruler at least 9" square
Sewing machine in good working order
Basic construction thread - 50wt cotton and threads to match the color fabric you have chosen.  These will be used for the blanket stitch appliqué around each of the puzzle tab elements.
New sewing machine needles size 70 or 80 microtex
Nice sharp pins like the Clover Glass Head Silk Pins
Seam Guilds from Guildlines4quilters
Spray sizing - Mary Ellens Best Press
1/2 yard of Fusible webbing of your choice - I used Steam-a-seam Lite
