We'll take the guesswork out of piecing those beautiful, intricate diamonds so you can achieve crisp points and a stunning finished star without spending forever figuring it out.
Whether you've always wanted to make a Lone Star or have been intimidated by the thought of all those diamonds, this class will give you the techniques and confidence to tackle it successfully.

Advanced Beginner
Supplies:
For the wall hanging, the star fabrics you will need 7 fabrics, 1/2 yard each. You can bring extra 1/2 yards of fabric to have some additional color options
The background fabric should not be chosen until the stars are done, so please try to hold off picking this fabric and we will discuss options in the class.
--Pattern is available with the instructor and can be purchased for $15
--Neutral color thread for piecing (100% cotton, 50wt. cotton thread)
--Rotary cutter (45 mm 60 mm any brand)
--Mat (18 X 24 inch, a smaller mat will not be big enough)
--Ruler 6 X 24 inch or 6 1/2 or 8 1/2 wide AND a 9” or 12” square ruler
--Ruler 1 X 6 or 3 x 12 (or other smallish ruler) inch, it needs to be a quilters style ruler not a school ruler
--Sewing machine in good working worker (a 1⁄4 inch seam foot is very helpful)
--Basic sewing supplies (seam ripper, fabric scissors)
--Straight pins – Iris Silk pins or Clover Silk Pins (with small red/white glass heads) - NO pins with large ball heads!
--Marking pen that can be seen on your fabric – Frixion pen or white mechanical marking pencil.
--Spray Sizing – Mary Ellen’s Best Press is wonderful
--1/2 yard muslin
--Paper and pencil for designing
--calculator is helpful
--Seam Guides from Guidlines4Quilters, these are the perfect too for making the perfect scant 1/4” seam allowance
--Glue Stick
