Learning to paper piece can feel like you are piecing through a mirror.  Using my technique, you will learn and understand all the tricks and tips for perfect paper piecing.  It will no longer be scary.  By piecing different designs, you will understand the steps and they will be a technique you will love.

Fabric:  This is the fabric requirements for the whole quilt.  For just the block you can use smaller random pieces if you wish to make practice blocks.  
1/2 yard - Background for butterfly and tulip block
1/8th yard or fat quarters for other parts of all the blocks - 8 colors will be plenty, but using more can be fun.
1 yard stripe for the sashing and corner blocks in the border - The corners are done with a "fake miter corner" technique.
1/2 yard for setting and corner triangles.
1 1/2 yard of the fabric for the border and binding.
We will not get to the backing and batting but when you are ready for that you will need 3 yards for the backing(I would suggest a fabrics with a small busy multi-color print) and a batting that is 48" square.

Basic Supplies:
Because this is a class on learning basics, I am including the brands and items that I think are the best to be had.  If you have a favorite and it works for you, we can make it work.  

Rotary cutter 28mm and 45mm size.
Rotary mat: Mat 12x18" recommended - please bring your own for this technique a small mat is required.
Add-a-quarter Ruler 6" or 12" or Add-a-quarter Plus.
Ruler - a square that is at least 9 1/2" - if you have one larger that is fine.
Ruler - 6x24" or 6 1/2" or 8 1/2" wide.
New Sewing machine needle - Size 70 Microtex for piecing.
Sewing Machine in good working order.
100% Cotton 50 weight piecing thread - neutral color.
