Time to start planning for warmer weather! Join me to sew a Spring-Break or Summer Short Sleeve Shirt for your favorite man. We'll be using pattern M6044 from McCall's. It's a relatively easy pattern to sew but results in a very professionally finished product. We'll especially focus on these things: Matching the pocket to the shirt, using a twin needle, attaching the sleeves to the body, getting an even, professionally finished collar, and using the auto features on your machine to sew the buttons holds and buttons. Come join the fun and get ready for warmer weather!
Materials needed:
Fabric = yardage per pattern(+ a little extra for version A)
When choosing your fabric, I recommend selecting a pattern that is random, stripes and plaids are difficult to align and match. I would avoid these.
If you would like to do a contrast color on the inside of the collar band and the rear button band, you will need 1/4 to 1/3 yard on contrasting fabric.
Fusible interfacing per the pattern. Get the lightest interfacing.
Seven buttons. The pattern recommends 1/2" but I prefer 7/16"
