Easy Kaleidoscope class

Learn to use VERY large prints in a quilt that will look like you have painstakingly pieced many different Kaleidoscopes.  This technique is so fun and easy using fabulous large print fabrics.  We will learn about angles using basic rulers – no special tools to purchase.

Supplies
Large Print fabric.
You will need to find the repeat in the fabric – each fabric is unique in it’s repeat.
After you have found the repeat of the design you will need 6 – 8 repeats.
There is no way to really know which will work best so I recommend that if you are not sure you purchase 8 repeats if possible.
Coordinate fabric can be chosen after your kaleidoscopes are made.
Rotary cutter, 45mm or 60mm size-Make sure that your cutter has a very sharp blade
Rotary mat: 18x24"
Ruler 8 1/2 x 24" RulerI really like the Omnigrid brand as their angle are the easiest to read for this technique.
Ruler 12 x 12 square
Sewing machine in good working order
100% Cotton 50weight piecing thread - neutral color
New sewing machine needle - Size 80 Microtex for piecing
Straight pins - I recommend the Clover Silk glass ball head pins.
Seam Guilds from Guildlines4Quilters.
Spray Sizing - Mary Ellen's best press - no spray starch
Glow tape for your ruler
