Smith Owen Sewing & Quilting

Cartonnage Treasure Chest

Using cartonnage technique, you will construct a box from pre-cut cardboard pieces. All covered with fabric, this box is great for a lot of purposes. It has removable dividers and you will make a removable tray choosing to add dividers to it or not. The metal closure completes the box making it even more beautiful and functional.  This is a fun, one-day class, where you will go home with one unique and functional box. You will learn some great tips on how to finish your box using special tools that facilitate the process. This box is one of the pieces included in the book “Cartonnage basics & beyond – The complete guide for fabric box making” written by the instructor Claudia Squio. (Book not included in the class). Bring lunch!
