SUE
SPARGO is
coming to Smith Owen. We are full of excited anticipation about
internationally known Sue Spargo’s visit to Smith Owen. Sue is a
wonderfully imaginative and creative quilt designer. We think her designs
are the perfect example of what we think of a modern primitive. Sue creates
whimsical images that pay respect to the past, however don’t think “cute”,
and she has a superb sense of color. Most of her designs utilize wool
appliqué techniques, which if you’re not familiar with, is something you need
to experience. Because the wool is pre-felted, there aren’t any pesky
edges needing to be turned under. If you would like to take a peak at

Don’t wait on this one. Sue will be with us on September 6, and
September 7. We are taking reservation and are close to full.
A $25 non-refundable registration fee will hold your place and be applied to
your class fee. Lunch included 10am-4pm on the 6th and 11:30am – 5:30pm
on the 7th.

SMITH OWEN QUILT RETREAT 2008 is scheduled for November 14-16 and we are full. You may ask to be put on the waiting list. Last year those on the waiting list were accommodated. We do have an alternative opportunity for you if you don’t have a whole weekend but would enjoy a “mini retreat”.
