Let’s Start at the Very Beginning  with Rose
Been thinking about learning to quilt?  The quilts you see are so pretty but look like a “life long project”.  How does a quilter get a quilt done so quickly?  Don’t think you could possibly find the time not only to learn but also to actually do it?  Looks expensive!  We would love to teach you to quilt successfully.  Start at the Very Beginning will do just that.  The classes will concentrate on teaching you methods that are not only correct and accurate but very time efficient.  We will start with picking fabrics, rotary cutting, piecing, layering and finally quilting.  You will learn to use the tools that make quilting so much easier and fun.  If you have a machine that can straight stitch you are ready to go.  You will need to purchase fabric and thread (you will get a class discount at Smith Owen), which can be done at the first class (come a few minutes early to do this).  Class time will focus on just four blocks, so you won’t feel rushed and you will be able to fully learn each step. You may  use our cutting tools so you can try them to see what you like and purchase if and when you are ready.  Don’t have a sewing machine – let us know and we will have one available for you to use at class time.
