The Viking Designer 1 is a fabulous embroidery machine and sewing machine made in Sweden. It sews and embroiders beautifully. It is a very easy to use, computerized sewing machine. You just touch the color touch screen for the stitch you want and it’s ready to go. It automatically sets up length and width and even tells you what foot to use. The tension is automatic! The Designer 1 has an exclusive sewing advisor- you input the fabric you are using and what technique you would like to do and it picks the best stitch. This is a great feature. Buttonholes couldn’t be easier, slip on the buttonhole sensor foot, input button size and it does a perfect one step buttonhole the correct size every time, even cuts the thread and lifts foot when finished. Some of the other great features are: Adjustable speed, needle stop up/down, double needle safety, fixes stitch at beginning and end. It has the exclusive pressure sensor that automatically adjusts the sewing foot pressure to the thickness of the fabric. The foot automatically lowers when you start sewing and rises when you touch the stop button. Has over 600 stitches built in. The thread cutter cuts the top and bottom thread after a seam or embroidery or cuts just the top for a color change. See the color embroidery on the screen.
