17/8  yard for backing, binding and use in the top 
1 yard of muslin for foundation or use one of your favorite fabrics as background  
1/8 yard of 15 to 30 different colors (you will need light to dark colors)  
1 small skein of yarn or cording in coordinating colors  
20 yards or more of bias fabric, hand dyed yarns, and or ribbons used for the spirals 3 yards of 18 inch fusible web  
Pressing  cloth or non stick pressing sheet  
Clear, variegated (rainbow Superior thread is best), or metallic thread for couching (this is going over the top of your yarn or ribbons )
Light weight cotton thread to match the back fabric  
Appliqué/walking foot/ or cording foot is helpful but not necessary  

OTHER SUPPLIES:  12 ½ inch ruler,  sewing machine needed for the first class  (needs to have a zigzag stitch, 18 mm Rotary cutter,  Ominigrid 6x24 inch ruler,  Straight pin, 100% cotton neutral in color (gray or beige) for piecing, seam ripper, cutting matt, sharp scissors

Machine wash fabric warm /gentle cycle.  Tumble dry on permanent press take out of dryer when just dry. Lay flat.
