Supplies:
--If you would like, set up an appointment with Nancy to pick out your
fabric before the first class. She will help you find the perfect
fabrics. If you choose to pick your own fabrics, for a wall
hanging, the star fabrics need be know more then 6 or 8 fabric, approx.
1/3 yard. For larger quilts you can use up to 11 fabrics, approx.
½ yard each. The background fabric should not be chosen until the
stars are done, so please try to hold off picking this until the second
session.

of your choice with a Lone Star you would like to make, I used Jan
Krentz’s book “Lone Star Quilt & Beyond). Elenor Burns
“Radiant Lone Star” is a very good book for basic Lone Stars.

color thread for piecing (100% cotton, 50 wt. cotton thread)
--Rotary
cutter (45 mm any brand)
--Mat
(18 X 24 inch, a smaller mat will not be big enough)
--Ruler
6 X 24 inch and an optional ruler of your choice
--Sewing
machine in good working worker (a ¼ inch seam foot is very helpful)
--Basic
sewing supplies (seam ripper, fabric scissors)
--Straight
pins – Iris Silk pins or Flower head pins, NO pins with ball heads!
--Marking
pen that can be seen on your fabric.
