Microtex Sharps 70 and Topstitch or Embroider 80 needles
Sharp scissors-I prefer 8” for cutting smoother appliqués
Neutral 50 wt thread for piecing and 40 wt variegated & solids for
appliquéing/thread painting
Pencil & eraser, white/yellow pencil
1 ¾ yd fusible – either Steam-a-seam 2 or Mistyfuse (which I prefer.
If you choose this, you will also need freezer or parchment
paper. You may decide at
class after discussion.)
Teflon sheet
Stablizer-1 yd
Fabrics:
Bat bodies - 1/2 yd total or 10" x 16" square/fat quarter for
each bat
Hats & Bodies - 1/4 yd total or fat quarter for each bat
Inner wings & ears - 1/4 yd total or fat quarter for each bat
Socks - 8" x 8" square of fat quarter (stripes, zigzag, etc.)
Teeth/Eyeballs - White 8" x 8" square or fat quarter
Outer Eyeballs - Yellow 8" x 8" square or fat quarter
Pupils - Black 6" x 6" square or fat quarter
Swirls in sky - 12" square or fat quarter
Background - 3/4 yd
Inner border - 1/4 yd
Outer border - Pieced - 4 fabrics totaling 1 1/3 yd
Solid 2/3 yd
