intermixed with simpler pieced blocks for an overall collage effect. The appliqué
can be fused or needle-turned. Kit is available only to those in the class.

Hand
Appliqué BOM with Nancy M. Roelfsema
This year’s Hand Appliqué club will let you choose what design you work on.
Come to club and let me help you learn some new techniques in hand appliqué.
For the beginner I will recommend using Mimi Dietrich’s book, “Baltimore
Basics.” I’m going to show you some of my favorite appliqué techniques. If
you’ve been appliquéing, if you watched appliqué teachers on TV, or if you
have taken other appliqué classes, you’ve learned that there are many methods
for stitching appliqué designs and many different tools to use. In this class
we will work though Mimi’s books and try as many techniques as we can to find
just the right technique for you while working on a Baltimore Album style quilt.
Different techniques are taught at each session. Beginner. Different
techniques are taught at each session.

Latte
The Viking Way
Many of you have seen the Latte Quilt book and have wanted to tackle the project
but were intimidated because it was not written for the Viking machine.
The Latte Quilt is an adventure in combining machine embroidery and decorative
stitches. This is an excellent class in which we learn about hooping and
placement, double and triple needlework, three-dimensional embroidery, combining
decorative stitches and 8-way stitching. In this class we will be making a
square a month. This class will resume in the spring. Please call
the store if you are interested in joining us.
